I wasted nearly 40 minutes of my lunch on the phone with Comcast trying to resolve a cable modem issue.
The jerk must have been looking up porn or something because he certainly wasn't listening to me.
So essentially all I got done in that time period was reboot the computer once, and open internet explorer twice.
He'd say "let me know when it reboots". Ok it has rebooted. pause for minutes. Ok. it's rebooted. Pause for minutes. It's up - are you there? hello?. Pause. Then he said "let me know when it has rebooted." Dammit all to hell I just told him three times it was up and running.
Same thing with opening Explorer. "It can't connect." Pause for several minutes. "It can't connect" Pause for several minutes. "It's not connecting" Pause for several minutes.
Rep: "Has it connected yet?"
I said I dont think the modem was registered on my account. He argued with me and said they HAD to register it when I picked it up. I told him no they didn't - they picked up a box out of a stack, handed it to me and I left.
40 minutes for this. No resolution, and a snotty attitude about it being my problem and not his. (So why can I get any other modem on earth to work besides this replacement comcast modem?)
If I had a phone line in the house I'd get DSL.
thankyouverymuch. This vent brought to you by Angry Blonde Females of America.

"When Giving Your Best Is Not Good Enough"
1.5 years since I dealt with those arseholes and I don't miss them one bit. In those 1.5 years my DSL has been down twice and only once for more than 10 minutes.

We have the same problem at work. We just changed to it recently, from another provider, and it's caused so many problems for us.
Our main servers are in BSG, and for the Norton office to access the network Comcast has to be up. We were down for three consecutive days once this month. Without the network we can't work.
